The past few weeks has seen a tidal wave of announcements from a few major festivals especially in the UK. Some massive bands and artists have been announced for this years festival season some have been interesting whereas some have been incredible ! Theres probably even more announcements to come in the next few weeks or so and its pretty exciting thinking about it. 

Last week saw a just a few announcements. Isle of Wight Festival announced Blossoms , Everything Everything , Sunset Sons , Feeder and many more bands for this years festival. Feeder are headlining the sunday night in the big top and this year sees Sunset Sons play the main stage after playing to a packed big top last year. Also Blossoms are definitely ones to watch this year after being runners up in the BBC Sound of 2016 they are definitely going to have an amazing year ahead of them. 

Bestival announced this years amazing theme which is 'the future' and it sounds pretty spectacular. As well as the theme announcement they also announced the Thursday , Friday and Saturday headliners with a large variety of bands. Hot Chip will be headlining the Thursday night in the big top , Major Lazer will be headlining the Friday night on the main stage and The Cure are headlining the Saturday on the main stage. Other bands and artists that have been announced include Wolf Alice , Years and Years , Craig David , Skepta , Katy B , Aurora and Bastille to name a few that have been announced already. More acts are to be announced this week and possibly at some point soon there will possibly a separate announcement for the Sunday headliner.

2000 Trees announced two headliners and a few bands that will be playing their 10th anniversary. Twin Atlantic will be returning as headliners which is rather exciting and the mighty Refused will also be headlining the festival too. Moose Blood , While She Sleeps and WSTR have also been confirmed to be playing this year too. 

Common People added two more acts to their line up , one being a headliner which happens to be Duran Duran which if your into that sort of thing then that will definitely be something you don't want to miss. Also Katy B will be performing at this years Common People too which is also something that you don't want to miss as she is pretty great live.

Glastonbury announced the legendary 'teatime' slot. The 'teatime' slot has been played by Dolly Parton, Lionel Ritchie and Paul Simon in recent years however this year sees Jeff Lynne's ELO to be playing the pyramid stage. With it being the only act to be announced for this years Glastonbury so far but its going to be interesting to see who is headlining the pyramid stage this year. 

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is coming to Exeter this year so if your in the area get excited because they announced 5 huge acts to be performing this year. So far Coldplay will be headlining and are bound to bring a huge show along with them. Also announced for Big Weekend include Ellie Goulding , Chase and Status , Bring Me The Horizon and Craig David. Its such an interesting line up this year but to be fair only Big Weekend could have Craig David and BMTH on one line up. 

Reading and Leeds added some more acts to their line up. Co-headlining will be Disclosure and Foals plus Two Door Cinema Club , Nothing But Thieves , Imagine Dragons , Jack Ü , Parkway Drive , Crystal Castles and more have been announced to be playing at this years festival. 

The Great Escape added 100+ acts such as The Big Moon , Declan McKenna , Dead! , St Lucia and Vant to name a few that are playing and are also ones to watch in the future.

Slam Dunk added loads more bands such as one of my favourite bands Mallory Knox have been added to the line up along with The Story So Far , Set Your Goals and many other bands. The next wave of bands is being announced on the 10th of this month which is pretty cool. 

With more announcements to come in the future such as V Festival are announcing their line up on the 22nd of this month along with other festivals that will probably be announcing or adding more to their line up. I think this time of year with all the announcements gets rather exciting also a lot of sunday headliners are yet to be revealed and thats just even more exciting as some huge names could get announced ! I'm really looking forward to this years festival season and hopefully i can get to more festivals in the future or even this year which would be pretty cool. Also if you want to buy tickets for the festivals i have mentioned you can get them now but i think with Big Weekend you have to apply for them if you are local in the area. If your attending a festival this year or are going for the first time then you should be excited !
