After waiting 6 years to see them it finally happened. I have been listening to Two Door Cinema Club for a stupidly long time and I've missed seeing them around 3 or 4 times. When Two Door Cinema Club announced that they were going to be touring again I knew I needed to go because i'd been waiting too long. I thought I would have cried but I didn't although there were 4 separate occasions where I had to pinch myself because I didn't think it was actually happening. Two Door Cinema Club have always been a band I've listened to since I first discovered them when I was like 11 or 12. Everything wasn't on time and because I had to get home because of the last boat being at 11pm we had to leave half way through the gig but it was all totally worth the 6 year wait.


Anteros were the the first support act onstage. Fronted by Laura Hayden the band from London absolutely smashed their set. Their sound has been described as bitter dream pop. Like most of the music i like listening to they have a really upbeat and happy sound with really dark and emotional lyrics. Also in the band are Joshua Rumble (excellent last name) , Charles Monneraud and Harry Balazs. I really liked seeing them perform and I hope they release more music soon. If you've not listened to them before i recommend giving the song The Beat a listen if you like catchy upbeat songs. The crowd seemed to really enjoy them which is always a great thing if you've won a crowd over. 


Next on was Sundara Karma and oh my god thank god I was sat on the balcony because bloody hell. It was like being back at Bring Me The Horizon with the size of the mosh pit that opened up. The indie dick head brigade were out in full force that evening and I kid you not someone even threw their shoe at the wall. I think security gave up with telling people to get off of shoulders and to stop mosh pits from happening because it was just mad. Sundara Karma are getting rather popular anyway so pretty much everyone was singing away to the majority of their songs. They recently released their debut album called 'Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect' and its pretty great. Honestly if you ever get the chance to see Sundara Karma , take it because they are so good live and i'd happily see them again. 

It was then time for Two Door Cinema Club to take to the stage. Surprisingly they played a lot of older songs and not too many new ones which I guess I was pretty happy about even though it would have been nicer to hear a few more new ones. Also lavender live sounds wonderful and yes that is one of my favourites from gameshow believe it or not. Someone got chucked out for crowd surfing which made me laugh. I still cannot believe I got to see TDCC after waiting so long it was pretty special. Also being able to hear a song that soundtracked your younger teen years is also great because you'll probably have some sort of screaming breakdown. They played Something Good Can Work and of course i freaked the hell out. 

I was very happy that evening thats for sure. Like I said we had to leave early annoyingly because of the stupid boat so I ended up missing a few songs unfortunately. It was so worth the wait as they were amazing and it really made me happy. I'd love to see all 3 bands again in the future as I really enjoyed them all. I feel extremely lucky to of even got tickets as they sold out within an hour and this was back in September last year too. If you want to see them at some point this year your best bet is to try and catch them at a festival because I'm pretty sure the UK tour is nearly over or actually over by the time this goes up but they are playing a bunch of European dates if your wanting to see them either closer to home or your willing to travel to another country then i'd really recommend going to see them.
